On March 10, Guizhou University (GZU) and Guizhou Chengqian Group celebrated the joint establishment of the “Guizhou Aluminum Industry Engineering Technology Innovation Center” with a plaque unveiling ceremony. Distinguished attendees included Zhang Dalin, Vice President of GZU; Wang Yunxiang, Deputy Party Secretary and Chair of the Labor Union at Chengqian Group; Ding Rui, Party Secretary and Chairman of Guizhou Industrial Investment Development Co., Ltd.; Hu Kun, Deputy General Manager of Chengqian Group; Wu Shunchuan, Dean of the Faculty of Land Resources Engineering at Kunming University of Science and Technology; and Zuo Yujun and Wen Zhijie, Dean and Vice Dean of GZU’s College of Mining. The event was hosted by Zheng Guangxin, Deputy General Manager of Chengqian Group.

In his address, Zhang Dalin highlighted the recent achievements of GZU and its College of Mining, offering four key recommendations for the Innovation Center’s growth: strive for first-class standards, bring together top talent and inspire innovation, deepen partnerships, and accelerate the application of research outcomes. He urged GZU faculty participating in the Center’s initial research projects to align with the strategic goal of optimizing mineral resource development, meet the practical needs of Chengqian Group, and swiftly translate scientific outcomes into tangible results, thereby honoring Chengqian Group’s trust and support.

Wang Yunxiang commended the extensive groundwork laid by both parties in establishing the Innovation Center, advancing scientific innovation and promoting industry-university-research collaboration. He underscored the Center’s significance and expressed optimism about deepening ties with GZU.

Zuo Yujun expressed strong confidence in the Center’s future, pledging unwavering support for its research endeavors on behalf of GZU’s College of Mining.

Wen Zhijie provided a detailed overview of the Center’s research priorities and development vision, outlining its key tasks and goals in optimizing the extraction and utilization of bauxite resources.

The Guizhou Aluminum Industry Engineering Technology Innovation Center was established to implement the strategic directives of the provincial CPC committee and government for optimizing mineral resource development. Focused on safe, efficient mining and effective use of bauxite resources, the Center is poised to invigorate Chengqian Group’s technological innovation, driving the company to new heights of development.
