On March 6, Guizhou University Vice President Wu Pan, who also serves as the Director of the University Sports Committee and Executive Deputy Leader of the Three-Year Action Plan Task Force, conducted an inspection of student fitness enhancement initiatives at the College of Life Sciences, the School of Liquor and Food Engineering, and the College of Forestry. This initiative is part of the university’s Three-Year Action Plan for Improving Student Physical Health and aligns with its broader strategic goals. During discussions with faculty, Wu Pan emphasized the importance of prioritizing physical health as a central component of holistic education and national rejuvenation, integrating it into the “Five Focal Education” Strategy, which includes moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor development.

Wu Pan outlined “four key commitments” to ensure meaningful outcomes: first, establishing measurable targets to enhance fitness compliance and improve excellence rates; second, fostering collaboration with the College of Physical Education while promoting discipline-specific “tailored strategies” for each school or college; and third, systematically documenting and sharing successful strategies with oversight from the College of Physical Education to enhance effectiveness. He called for unified, results-driven efforts to elevate health standards across the University, underscoring Guizhou’s commitment to cultivating well-rounded talent in support of national development objectives.
